LOC2419: Holme Fen NNR contains birch woodland, heathland and acid grassland (Peterborough, Cambridgeshire)

Holme Fen National Nature Reserve is a rare and isolated remnant of fen habitat lying at the lowest most westerly point of East Anglian fen basin. Birch woodland, remnant ancient bog, heathland, acid grassland. Features charcoal kilns left behind when large scale felling took place for charcoal making during the Second World War. There is a bungalow on site (protected building)
